Why It Is Best Not To Use Google to Repair Your Own Computer

Hi everybody today I am going to discuss the dangers of trying to repair your own computer by using Google to find answers. Often times when we have a major issue with our computers we will look to Google for all the answers. This can often times cause more problems then fixes, especially since the Penguin update. We are going to discuss when it is safe to try and repair it yourself and when you should seek professional help.

When you start up your computer in the morning you are normally greeted with the sound of Windows and then all your settings and icons load. Once loaded, you start doing your work. What happens if on a particular day your system goes crazy with pop ups and alerts from programs you never installed? Most likely you are the victim of a virus attack. You first move might be to try and Google a remedy and in the process, you might actually encounter another virus just from searching. In addition, you will find lots of remedies many of which might cause more harm then good. As the day progresses and your system gets slower and slower you finally decide to get someone professional to help you. The sad part is that during the time you were trying to repair it yourself, more damage has likely occurred to your computer. In a virus situation, it is always best to get the virus removed professionally as soon as it gets on your system. The longer you wait the better chance you have of loosing your precious data.

In another case scenario, you might try and boot up your computer and be greeted by the blue screen of death. This will usually cause the computer to restart only to bring you back to the blue screen, These blue screens have many causes but the majority of the time they are caused by virus infections and bad software. These cases are almost always repairable. In rare cases, they are caused by hardware. If you try and repair these kinds of situations yourself, you risk loosing your data entirely. Leave it to an expert. They have been trained and have the experience to diagnose and repair the reasons for your blue screen. It might take some time, but we can almost always find the cause.

We have had people trying to add hard drives to the inside of their cases. This is not always an easy job. If the settings are not right when you start the computer, you can corrupt your main hard drive and your system will be unbootable. A new hard drive should always be installed by a pro unless you have enough experience to tackle it.

By using common sense and asking for help when appropriate, you can help avoid data loss that create many hours of extra work and expense to repair.
