Finding a reputable online computer repair company can be a confusing and stressful task, because you have to trust the company based on their website and their content. In addition to how confident and truthful they sound on the phone when you first call in, if they do not want to give you an upfront price for their service, run far away from that company. This rule also applies if they try to sell you overly expensive things that you know you don’t need for your computer. Those types of companies are out for a paycheck and not to make the customer happy.
I hear time and time again from clients how they paid over three or four hundred dollars for a service we do for ninety nine bucks, or that they were charged even though the company didn’t fix their problem. Make sure once you do find a company that is reputable and client conscious that you stick with them. Day in and day out there are hundreds of new online computer companies popping up.
A few things to keep in mind when calling a Online computer repair company.
• Is their remote software encrypted? You want to make sure that your data is secure and that the company will do whatever they can to make sure that happens.
• Ask the technicians questions, if they are as qualified as they say they are there will be no problem in them answering questions about your concerns.
• Ask for an upfront pricing for the work that will be done to your computer, this way there will be no hidden fees or charges.
• Do they charge a flat rate pricing or by the hour? When charging by the hour it is almost a guarantee that the technician will work slower, thus costing you more money that need be.
• How long have they been in business? Whether it be online or offline this is an important question. The longer the company has been around the better chances you have hit on a good company.
• Will there be a charge if the problem is not fixed? I know here with our computer company we do not charge the client if we cannot fix their problem. We feel it is unfair for our clients to have to pay for leaving with the same problem they came with.
• Ask about their warranty after the computer is fixed? We give a seven-day warranty after all work is completed. If a client has an issue within those seven days after their computer has been completed , we will fix their problems free of charge.
Ok now comes the scariest part of using an online computer company, you must pay by credit card. Some companies have an online form where you are able to fill out your information and you are charged upon checkout. We however have found this method to be a bit messy in regards to charging the client and sending receipts and if a refund is due it is an absolute nightmare. Once our client’s call, we connect them to our technicians so that they will know whom they will be working with. Then we take the credit card and they are not charged until we are sure we can repair the problem. Now I know many of you are leery about giving out credit card information and you should be.
I have heard time and time again from clients of a previous company they worked with only to not have their computer fixed and charges popping up all over their credit card. First off, make sure that the prospective company uses encrypted software and that they tell you so free of will. Why is this so important you ask? Well for one banks use encrypted software to make sure their charges are safe from prying eyes and that your information is safe. We always make it a point to tell our clients we use the same kind of encrypted software as the banks do.
I hope I was able to shed some light on some of the important things to look at when picking the best online computer repair company for your needs. I am not an expert but I am in the field and I am relaying some of my knowledge I have gained in the past years. Good luck!!
