In this day and age there are so many different electronic gadgets to help us with our day-to-day chores and activities. Whether you’re using your gadget for scheduling appointments, creating a budget or maybe you’re looking up a recipe for something special for your family.
On a daily basis I use about three electronic gadgets on and off throughout the day. I work from home doing billing, marketing and reception work for our business. I use my HP desktop computer in my office during work hours. It is a fairly new addition to our office, we purchased it about a year ago and I absolutely love it. We purchased it from Sam’s Club as a package at a stellar deal that included the monitor, mouse, keyboard and tower. The monitor is quite big making whatever I am working on much easier to see and the clearness of the screen is amazing. The keyboard is a little smaller than I was used to but it has a very comfortable position for your hands and the keys are nice and firm not mushy. Yes, us woman can get excited about our electronic gadgets too boys (he he).
On occasion I work from the downstairs office with the use of our Gateway laptop and our remote Bomgar software. I have to give three cheers for remote software, its what makes our business possible and the reason I am able to work from where ever I want in the house and still be able to access my main office machine. The laptop I am now using took some getting used to since I was used to working from a desktop but after about an hour or so I got the hang of it and I much prefer to work from the downstairs office. The screen on the laptop is almost as big as my desktop computer and the ease of use is amazing. However, I must say that when we purchased the laptop it came with Windows 8 and boy oh boy was it as slow as molasses. My husband took out windows 8 and installed Windows 7 and its as fast as lightning now.
Did I mention that while I am working I also use my smart phone throughout the day to make business calls and make personal scheduling? Oh and let us not forget the ever important text messaging and face book app. Both my husband and I have Samsung Galaxy 2 tablets and we love them. We had the I phones, which by the way were always locking up and confusing both of us; so we traded them in for our current phones. The most used app on my phone is the scheduling feature, it definitely helps to have a calendar right in hand when you’re making appointments or making a schedule. I absolutely love it!!
We haven’t missed a Dr. Appt or service call since. The ease of use of the phone is phenomenal and the phone even has reminders to show you how its features work if you forget or need to view a tutorial. The app market also has many more free games and apps to help assist you in your day-to-day life, making the free apps in the android market a welcome addition to our lives. Almost all of the I Phone apps we had to pay for so being on a budget we did without a lot of the extras.
When I am not working I use my Samsung Galaxy 10 inch Tablet to read electronic books, check emails, play games and look up recipes. The online bookstore for the android market is filled with just about any book you can find in hardback and the cost is much less than buying a paper version. This feature also helps to cut down on the room you need to store the books you have read. How many times have you bought a book and read it and put it on a shelf or in a closet and never picked it up again only for it to end up going in a garage sale or off to charity. With the use of this tablet it puts a stop to all the book clutter and if you think about it is even more environmentally friendly cutting down on the unneeded use of paper.
Plus if you want to read the book again its right in your online library and once you purchase it, the book is yours forever in your library. I also use my tablet when I am cooking; we are trying to consume less processed foods so I am committed to find ways on making it happen. So far I have used my tablet to make cookies, crackers and breads. It’s amazing to watch a cooking show as you are making the recipe. Definitely a must try in my book.
Well there you have it a look into the electronic gadgets that I Heather Deprey use in my daily life and why I love them. Hopefully I was able to give you some insight as to why I love them and to possibly inspire you to use more electronic gadgets in your daily life.
