How you can remove a Windows\System32\Config\System Error.
This Windows\System32\Config\System error pop ups usually when your registry became corrupted. One way to fix this is to run a CHKDSK /p on your hard drive. How you actually do this?
First, you must have a copy of a Windows XP installation CD. You can use yours or borrow one from a friend.This is what you will use to boot up or start your computer so you can start the Recovery Console.
Next up, make sure your computer’s BIOS is set such that it boots from the CD-ROM instead of your harddrive. After you have done that, put your Windows install CD on the CD-ROM drive and boot up your computer.
When you see the message “Press any key to boot from CD…” press any key to continue booting from the Windows install CD. Windows will now load its files, and after it finishes, you will see the screen where Windows will ask you if you want to install or repair. Press “R” to go to the Recovery Console.
At the Recovery Console, Windows will ask what install you want to repair. This is usually the first one so you can press “1″. If you have set a password when you first installed Windows XP, you will have to also type it.
After you have successfully logged on, you are now on C:\Windows. What you want to do is to rename the old SYSTEM file to SYSTEM.BAK in case something goes wrong.
Then you can copy a new SYSTEM file. Read on below… While on C:\Windows type the following commands (without the quotes) to proceed with the copy. “cd system32\config” “ren system system.bak” “copy \windows\repair\system” If the message “1 file(s) successfully copied” shows up, all went well.
You may now restart your computer by typing in, “exit” (still without the quotes). When the computer starts up, don’t press any key to continue booting using your hard drive.
