Google Chrome is making a strong presence in the internet browser wars. Since it was announced and released in 2008 it has become responsible for more than 25% of all usage shared by the other popular browsers.
There have been a few bugs in the software, one of the main ones was that Microsoft’s Security Essentials was detecting Google Chrome as malware and deleting it from user’s computers. The bug has since been fixed and the features that are offered today in the newest version of Google Chrome offer many benefits to the users who download it.
Improved plugin performance and stronger reliability for advanced programs and applications have been fine tuned for a better and more enriched internet experience. Tab management is made more simple with easy to add and remove features and the bookmark manager comes complete with import and export support.
For added security Google Chrome has enforced pop up management settings and privacy applications to help keep control with the user for how they want to share their information and with whom. Benchmarks proved that Javascript has improved by increasing its speed more than 35% from previous releases. The browser also offers mouse wheel support, full screen modes, full page zooming, auto fill for online forms, tab docking and grease monkey support.
Google Chrome has also made many improvements to offer better HTML5 support, offer HTTP byte range support, and give full ACID3 support, increase security features and updated streamline UI with a more simplified Omnibox.
The main goal that Google Chrome has set after is to be fast and secure with a simple and easy to use design. Users should feel as though they have control while browsing the internet and that they understand the settings that are offered to them, so Google Chrome has made sure to include very simple settings for beginner and intermediate users as well as those more advanced setting and features for the more technical user.
Chrome automatically receives two updated blacklists for phishing and for malware to better protect users against threats. The settings that are featured in the software help to ensure that malware does not install itself on your computer. The browser also comes with a no tracking setting that will allow the user to change settings to ensure that websites they visit do not track their online and offline behavior. This eliminates many threats from being introduced to your computer and can help to keep your system safe and secure as well as your information, whether it be personal, financial or just behavioral. Internet browsers have come a long way since the original World Wide Web was introduced in 1990 they are now easier to use, offer more options for search and more features for browsing advanced pages and using applications.
